Website Design, UI/UX, Typography, Branding, Layout
I was given this project with the task of designing a website without having a current site to go off of. I have used to rebranding sites so this project created a different challenge. I gleaned a lot of the information from social media and working with the client. I had some really nice photos to work with that really showcased the elegance of this property.

It is located in the mountains of Vermont. The house can be rented out for vacation and is a very modern and elegant style. I liked the rustic location but felt that I needed to have sophisticated colors that reflected the modern and minimalist architecture.

Overall Look

I pulled the gold from the photo and also the charcoal and black. I used a very simple san-serif typeface that was bold but minimal.
Photography
Keeping with the sophisticated but rustic theme, I found imagery that reflected bright colors but fit into the already existing color palette. I felt this areal view added a lot to the home page because it shoed the surrounding forest area.
Logo
The logo I used was only temporary but I wanted to incorporate the minimalism and colors of the rest of the site. I also liked this footer because of how simple it is and really helps to draw your eye across the pages with the yellow line at the bottom.
Restaurants Page
On the restaurants page, I wanted to make sure the images felt consistent. I used this photo as a hero image because it had some of the colors that I had used in other areas of the site; grays, yellow, etc.
Research
I had to do specific research when doing the restaurants to feature. The client I was working with is vegan and wanted to feature places that were vegan as well. This really made me more aware of what images I was using and making sure it was highlighting natural ingredients.
Note: On these screenshots, the header is left off for easier formatting and spacing between components.
Things to Do Page
I really like the photo that used used on this page. It shows the snowy Vermont slopes that are a draw to this part of the state. It really highlighted how beautiful it can be in this area. It also followed the rustic and warm feel in color and composition.
